Where 5G is available
Cambodia’s main mobile operators have rolled out 5G in parts of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Coverage is still focused on busy areas: city centres, shopping areas, and some residential zones. Rural and suburban coverage is expanding gradually.
What 5G offers users
Where 5G is live, users see higher speeds and lower latency than on 4G. That helps video calls, streaming, and large downloads. Many plans include extra 5G data or bonuses for 5G-capable devices. Check your operator’s coverage map and plan terms before relying on 5G.
Operator rollout status
Cellcard has been at the forefront of 5G deployment and often has the widest 5G footprint in the capital. Smart Axiata has been expanding 5G in urban areas. Metfone is adding 5G sites as part of its network upgrade. Availability and speeds still vary by location and time of day.
Practical tips
You need a 5G-capable phone and a SIM or plan that supports 5G. If you’re in a 5G area, your device will usually switch to 5G automatically. If speeds or coverage don’t meet expectations, 4G remains widely available and reliable across the country.
